Using the iPod in your car

This is a problem that a lot of iPod users have: you have your iPod stuffed with music and of course some podcasts, and you will be on the road for at least an hour. Great way to listen to your iPod, you would think. But not over the car hifi system. There isn’t an easy way to connect your iPod to your car radio or cd player. I’ve thought of buying an iTrip or Lees meer…

“Making money with internet diaries”

That was the title of a news item on BNR Nieuwsradio yesterday. They called me to comment on the subject. Twenty minutes of calling reulted in only a few quotes, but that’s how it goes. It’s nice that they mentioned our blog manual Blognomics 2.0 – the mechanics and economics of blogging, but I would have liked if they’d also announced the seminar the 21st of april at the RAI, the first blogging event in Lees meer…

Soundseeing

I’m really amazed by this new phenomenon called soundseeing. Perhaps this word raises some question marks. In fact, when I try to explain to someone what soundseeing means, they already start laughing as soon as I’ve used the word. “How can that be interesting?”. Well, to be honest, I’m a little surpised myself, but it definitely can be interesting. By the way, Wikipedia hasn’t covered it yet, so perhaps I’m early to discuss it. Anyway, Lees meer…

New egosurfing tool: preople

I’ve been egosurfing since the early days (not sure if I actually invented the word). It means that you regularly check your online presence. Google was the best and only tool to do that. I was very excited to find out that when you spell my name wrong at Google, you’re asked if you didn’t mean ‘Krijn Schuurman’🙂 Anyway, a new service has launched by Boris Veldhuijzen Van Zanten and his compagnion: Preople. This is Lees meer…

Windows devices with BlackBerry services

High Tech Computer (HTC), one of the world’s largest makers of handheld devices based on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile software, has signed a deal to offer support for BlackBerry wireless services on devices that it manufactures. Under the agreement with Research In Motion (RIM), HTC plans to start adding Blackberry Connect to some devices, allowing mobile operators to offer Windows Mobile-based devices that can access e-mail and other services offered by RIM’s popular BlackBerry service. BlackBerry Lees meer…

Viral effect getting in motion

It’s great to see that some of the mechanisms we describe in our blog manual actually take place with the blog manual and the blog seminar being the subject! Not only some digital media have mentioned the blognomics event, some bloggers have picked it up now too. One of them is Neville Hobson at Nevon.net who actually writes about three blogging events next month, two in Paris and one in Amsterdam, the latter of course Lees meer…

Shifting audio and video

What do an iPod and hard disk recorder have in common? A lot! The concept of local storage creates the opportunity to direct your own media consumption behaviour. This may sound a little fuzzy. What is means is that to store media – audio and video – at a near place, enables you to watch or listen to it whenever you want. This avoids requiring a huge video server and enormous bandwidth. But when you Lees meer…

On air

When I was young I always wanted to be a radio host or a quiz master. I never managed to get there (yet), but at least I’ve been on national radio: BNR Nieuwsradio. In todays program called In de Ban de Week I was interviewd by former Nova en RTL News host Margriet Vroomans and Rens de Jong. It was about the 36% increase in e-commerce revenue in The Netherlands. They asked me to explain Lees meer…

Podcast experiment

I’ve been carrying around my new iPod Photo for not even a week now, but my enthousiasm is still at heights. One of the reasons I got the device was to get into podcasting. I’ve just been working on my setup and if everything goes as planned, this post will include a podcast. I’ll explain how I did this later, first I have to check if it works at all 🙂 By the way, I’ve Lees meer…

We can’t make it any more fun…

…but we do make it easier. Well, that’s more or less the slogan of the Dutch tax service. What do you think of this? I received a letter that I’d been late with sending in my Q4 turnover. Since it’s the first time, they won’t give me a fine yet, but the next time this happens, the fine will be higher because of this incident. See the dates that I should have sent in (upper), Lees meer…

Yet another step

Today we made some big improvements in the Blogven developments. The site is ready and we’ve finished our first product. Hopefully I can announce it tomorrow. Also, I proudly present my new iPod Photo. An important tool in the world of podcasting. The photo feature is a bonus. I will be carrying around some pictures of her I guess 😉 By the way, the price of an iPod has dropped dramatically in the last two Lees meer…

Snow in spring

It will be hard to explain to my daughter that is actually spring now, according to the meteorologists. Luckily, she’s only eight months yet. By the way, I’ve been taught that spring comes the 1st of March, so let’s keep it at that.

Image is everything

Another step for Blogven. Today we had a photo shoot at this new skate track in Amsterdam. With lots of material for promotion, things are getting real. More pictures of the photo shoot can be found at Flickr.

Blogven’s birth

Well, not the actual birth yet. The conception perhaps. Actually Guido has been walking around with the Blogven idea for a while, and then gathered a team. First Alex and Adriaan from Cellspace joined, and now I’m getting in. This may sound a little misterious, but that’s on purpose. The only thing that can be shown right now are the Blogven promo shirts:
